Welcome to United West
2013-14 Faculty and Staff
Parents: Please click here and read information concerning the PTO officer elections.
ISAT Testing for 3rd-5th Grade will be conducted on March 10-14.
The results are used for accountability of the school and district by the State of Illinois. Currently, the ISAT is the lone measure that allows for comparison of students across the entire state.
How Parents can help:
-Refrain from scheduling daytime appointments during test week.
-Ensure that your child is getting enough rest at night.
-Make sure that they eat breakfast at home or at school.
-Discuss the testing with them throughout the week. If there is any anxiety or concern on behalf
of your child, please stress that “trying their best” is all that is expected of them.
March 20th is Grandparent's Day
at United West Elementary!
Our annual Grandparent’s Day will be held Thursday, March 20. This year’s event will begin at 12:45 PM and end at 2:30 PM.
Parents or guardians are asked to complete a reservation slip and return it to school by Wednesday, March 19. Reservations may also be made by calling 734-8513. Should a grandparent wish to take a student home, a parent or guardian must provide a written note by Wednesday, March 19.
As in the past, this is an event intended specifically for grandparents of students. In the event a student does not have a grandparent it is acceptable for an aunt, uncle or other relative to attend. This is not an event intended for parents, as there are several opportunities to visit throughout the year, unless no other relative is able to attend. We ask that each student is limited to two adults due to classroom space.
