This Fall, the Illinois Retired Teachers Association Foundation (IRTAF) will award $36,500 in grant money to several public school educators from across the state. This grant money will allow these educators to enrich their instruction with materials not otherwise available to them. Their students are the real winners! A special thank you to the Illinois Principals Association for their assistance with the promotion of this program. Below, you will find a paragraph summary in the winner's own  words.

Our Very Own Mrs. Hannah Baker

"We have recently become a Google School.  This year, I began utilizing Google Classroom to create online art portfolios for my students to present their artwork, create a collection of their artwork to use for scholarships or future use, and as an alternative way to turn in their artwork, as many students want to get their work home as soon as possible.  I currently have one Chromebook available for 75 students to utilize throughout the day to take pictures of and upload their work.  I am also going to flip my upper level art classes next year, as I teach art 1,2,3 and 4 all at the same time, and having Chromebooks available for students would be incredibly helpful."
