Welcome to United CUSD #304

United Community Unit School District #304 is located in west-central Illinois. The district encompasses 363 square miles and is comprised of 3  campuses: a North Campus located in the town of Alexis, which houses a PK-5 elementary building; a West Campus 12 miles to the west, which houses a PK-5 elementary building and a junior high school; and a South Campus 12 miles to the south, which houses the high school building. Community members from Henderson, Knox, Mercer and Warren counties play an active role in meeting the needs of our district.
We are proud of the administration, faculty, staff, students, parents, and community members who make up our school community. Welcome to our home page. We welcome your presence as you browse our web site for more information about our school, the home of the Red Storm.

A Tribute to Coach Engebretson

“We are on the field and in the locker room to teach our players how to win. Not just on the gridiron, but in any profession they choose. We want to impart habits that will lead them to excellence throughout their lives. Most of all, we want to teach them the value of loyalty, integrity, and teamwork. Once you know how to work with people, you can accomplish anything.” ~Lou Holtz

The United School District bids farewell to Tim Engebretson as Head Football Coach of the United Red Storm. Coach "E" has truly been an inspiration, role model, and guiding force behind the United football team. His dedication and commitment to his players and fellow coaches, coupled with his class on and off the field have made the football seasons at United memorable.  His 2004 State Class 1A Championship win served to solidify the newly formed district to think and act as one. We have been blessed to have had such a superb coach and teacher in our district.

Coach Engebretson was honored May 17 on WRAM radio with a tribute to his coaching career at United and the former Warren High Schools. The podcasts of the tribute can be accessed through the links below.

"Football is a great deal like life in that it teaches that work, sacrifice, perseverance, competitive drive, selflessness and respect for authority is the price that each and every one of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile." ~Vince Lombardi

Thanks, Coach!

5th-10th Grade Parents:  If your child owes a netbook repair fee, please pay it by the end of the school year; otherwise, it will be added to the registration fees in August. Students moving out of the district over the summer must pay any outstanding netbook fees before records will be sent to the new school the student will be attending. Thank you!
